Facility Type: Outpatient Clinic and GI Procedure Lab Specialty: Gastroenterology
Length of Assignment: ASAP, as soon as credentialed, payer enrollment, and Health Attestation Form are completed.
Required Skills & Procedures, Details about Need: BC or BE in Gastroenterology, ACLS, BLS, Moderate Sedation
Schedule: A Candidate must be able to offer at least 1 week of coverage, Monday-Friday, for one week a month, ongoing
Scope of Practice: 100% Adult, Geriatrics
Procedures: Outpatient Colonoscopy and EGD; GI Hospitalist will do inpatient procedures. ERCP and EUS skills would be great, but not required
Other details:
- Olympus scope
- Provation reporting system (may change to Lumens in 2026)
- Clinic vs. Scopes ratio depends on availability, but historically, physicians are placed in endoscopy preferentially
- Open access endoscopy and clinic APPs feed the procedure schedule
- Bread and butter EGD/colon
- EPIC is the EMR system
Shift Structure/Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm (Outpatient Clinic and GI Procedure lab). 7:30 am start for MAC blocks. Need full-time coverage!
- Must be available for at least one full week per month, ongoing, no Call requirements, closed on major holidays.
License: Licensed in Illinois or an active/current IMLC candidate is preferred; the group will consider someone with an active LOQ to be considered
