An inpatient behavioral health hospital in Pennsylvania is seeking a locum tenens Adult Psychiatrist for a 6-month assignment with an ASAP start (contract dates February 2, 2026 – August 2, 2026). This position is well suited for psychiatrists seeking competitive compensation, shift flexibility, and a predictable weekday schedule with no nights, weekends, or call.

Clinical Responsibilities

Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult inpatient admissions

Daily follow-up visits, treatment planning, and discharge planning

Diagnosis and management of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions

Psychopharmacologic management, including initiation, adjustment, and monitoring
-
Crisis intervention, stabilization, and de-escalation
-
Collaboration with a full interdisciplinary treatment team

Participation in treatment team meetings and care coordination

Accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
Patient Volume

16–20 adult inpatients per day (new and existing patients)

Dedicated nursing, social work, and clinical support staff

Provider works alongside 12 other physicians

No supervision of mid-level providers required
Requirements

Board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist (Adult)

Active Pennsylvania medical license required

BLS certification (AHA, current)

DEA license with ability to change address
